Must Have Hi-Tech Mobile Phone Add-ons

Long gone are the days when a "cell phone" was an expensive luxury used for emergency contact purposes. Times are ever changing, and as a digital society we are more and more dependent on our mobile phones. We bring them with us everywhere to stay connected by taking advantage of all of the latest social connectivity technologies. One thing that hasn't changed, however, is the need to supplement our phones with much needed accessories that are never included in the box. Here is a list of tech additions to consider for your mobile companion.

Extra batteries always come in handy. Yet, a problem is, we never want to just carry around a pocketful of batteries - that is quite an inconvenience. For most popular phones, extended life batteries are available. Many online electronics and battery stores offer batteries that will give a mobile phone some additional life - sometimes up to almost twice the amount of life of the original manufacturer's battery. Keep in mind - by doing so, the weight of the phone is increased, and more times than not, a new carrying case is required to make way for a phone with a larger sized battery. With some price-shopping and review reading, it is easy to determine whether a reliable and worth-while battery replacement is available for a particular phone.

Even if there is an extended battery installed, no battery lasts forever. This is usually discovered when the adapter/charger is noticed to be forgotten at home or at work. Having a spare adapter is always a good thing as is having one in the automobile. Another option to keep handy as a backup is a mobile phone "pen charger" type device. These devices come in a variety of shapes and sizes, and fit many popular phones with the included multi-adapter kit. Powered by AA batteries, these chargers provide a quick boost to mobile phones, portable music players, and more.

Mat charging solutions have become popular recently. If you haven't seen one, the basics typically include placing the device (phone) in a provided jacket, then placing the jacketed device on mat resembling a mouse pad for power. It truly is a neat solution, yet quite pricey when the only real benefit is the convenience of not having to physically plug a charger into the phone.

Bluetooth headsets, however, area great convenience - especially if you are always on the go, and need a hands free solution while talking on the phone. We usually see these obnoxiously in use by someone speaking really loud to themselves at the grocery store. Syncing to the phone via Bluetooth, and resting behind the ear, they can come in useful when used politely.

Automobile hands-free car kits have been around since the invention of the portable phone. Early solutions required running wires, and hooking up microphones and speakers inside a car. Modern versions of these microphone/speaker all-in-one wireless Bluetooth devices can be easily clipped to a steering wheel or visor, and provide for much safer driving.
