Must Have Toys for 8 to 10 Year Olds

Faith Dosier
Toys are an important asset to their development; you don't need the most expensive toys to make them happy but you do need to keep them engaged and stimulated. Children in the eight to ten year old range can be a little difficult to buy for because there are so many toys and games out there to choose from and that can leave you with your head spinning from all the choices. I noticed from all the toys that I've brought for my 9 year old that most of the time the familiar basics are the best and get the most long-term enjoyment.

My first pick is a handball, yes a plain two dollar handball. He just can't get enough of it all they need is a handball and a wall and they get hours or exercise and play and it a group play activity too for their friends and family. When they are tired of handball then they can start a game of kickball too You can get one in most grocery stores, Target or any toy store.

Another great toy is a kite, little boys and girls everywhere love watching kites soar in the air on a windy day and it keeps them active too. There are so many different types of kites and the price ranges from a few dollars on up to the double digits. You can get them with their favorite cartoon or comic book character on them too.

If you have more of an indoor child then definitely invest in board games like Monopoly. Monopoly is a game that can be played by two to four players at a time and it teaches them how to count and invest money and its fun at the same time. It a great game that can be played by adults with their children too and the game can go on for hours so it's a good game to occupy them for hours.

The Xbox 360 is also an awesome gaming system that has many games that can be purchased to be played with the Xbox 360 system. The system is the latest gaming system from Microsoft and it comes in several editions there is the arcade version and the elite. The arcade version is sufficient for an eight to ten year old child and some arcade systems come with games included like Uno, Sonic Tennis, and Backgammon it comes with one wireless controller so once you take it out the box you have everything you need for your child to play.

I hope you enjoy my picks and you child's finds hours of enjoyment out my picks as my child has too.

Good article. A lot of good information. You should think about putting bolded subtitles in your articles. It breaks up the text. I've found that people like to skip around articles. The html code is . You put those around the word or words you want to bold. Anyways, keep writing.
