Must-Have Toys for 5 Years-Old Boys

Nneka
My 5 years old son loves toys impulsively. Beginning with when he was two, he fell in love with the Thomas the Tank Engine series. Anything Thomas, he has it. From shoes, clothes, pillow cases and bedding sets, sleeping bags, and of course the little engine and his friends, my son has them all. There was a period of time when everyday we had to go to Wal-Mart to buy a new Thomas toy. It was must do for him or no peace in the house. This went on from about two and half until he was nearly five.

Now that he is five, my son seems to have little interest in buying the little engines, although he still loves the clothing, shoes, and accessories. His list of hot new must-have toys include:

Wrestling and action figures. My son loves watching wrestling matches and the character toys are his new must-haves. He loves Wolverine animated night crawler figures, Transformers,

Trucks: boys love to pretend that they can drive their trucks way before eligible age. For my 5 year old, the Tonka Toughest Mighty Dump Truck is excellent for pretend plays. He loves taking it to the park or beach and loading it with sand or other small toys, then pushing it to one corner to empty the contents.

Video Games: with three boys in the house, video games are always must-have in my house. My five year-old loves the NBA video games. Currently he loves the NBA

2K video games, the NCAA Football Play Station games, and Thomas video games.

Building Toys: my son also loves to build things. He tells me he wants to build houses and airplanes when e grows up. I have found he specifically loves any toy that allows him to create different figures, shapes, and items. You can never go wrong with wooden blocks, battleship building toys, and any toy that allows him to sit quietly and put parts together to create something. It keeps him focused and thinking and he enjoys it.

LeapFrog toys: Reading system is a great way to teach kids to read independently. LeapFrog Tag Reading System does that well.

All these toys can be bought at Target, Wal-Mart, K-mart, Toys R'us , and online shops.
