Aren't We All Mutts in Some Way or Another?
Purebred dogs are lovely
Their papers prove their strain
They could be small like Chihuahuas
Or stately like a Great Dane!
Their papers prove their strain

But visiting the local shelter
Can give you so much joy
To find a mutt who needs some love
Even though not the real McCoy!
So consider your decision
To adopt a loving pet
Who'll give you unconditional love
And a choice you'll never regret!

Mutts rule! Mom just bought a pedigree puppy and he's totally bonkers in comparison to my mongrel.
Cute. We have two mutts who own us.
Excellent. We adopted a mixed breed puppy whose whole litter was brought up to the DC area from Gulfport after the storms (Katrina/Rita). We're not sure of the breed, but one thing stands out: he's the best dog we've ever had!

Yea, yet so many are cruel to animals.
In a way, this applies to humans also. We are carried away by appearances and pedigree but everyone needs to be appreciated and capable of reciprocation. Nice thoughts, Diane. Happy that you back into poetry - siva
