1. White Christmas sung by Bing Crosby: This is a quinessential Christmas song that is must have for all holiday music lists! It originally was introduced in the film Holiday Inn and later was made famous in the movie of the same title, White Christmas! It is fun to think of the Christmases that we celebrated as a kid even if they were not white!
2. I'll Be Home For Christmas sung by The Carpenters: I love the harmony of the Carpenters on this song. It reminds me that no matter where we travel there is no place like home for the holidays.
3. There's No Place Like Home For The Holidays sung by Perry Como: Sometimes we have to make home where we are but in this song people everywhere are trying to get to the homes they love. This is a great car Christmas song!
4. Blue Christmas sung by Elvis: Elvis, the King, sings this song in the voice that millions love to croon to.This is one of the best Christmas love songs that I know. Even though Elvis is singing of losing his love at Christmas, it reminds me to hold close to the ones I love so as not to be sad or blue at the holidays!
5. Silver Bells: This sweet tune can be heard by Salvation Army bells and singers a like. It seems to play on every corner and from every store during the holidays. I love it for it's simple nature.
6. We Wish You A Merry Christmas: A very simple tune that can be sung over and over from those young and old. I taught this song to a group of four-year-olds, years ago and it was my favorite version of this popular, classic song.
7. Silent Night: This song has been sung over and over again by many different artists for over a hundred years. But I love to hear it when it is sung during Christmas Eve services in my home town church. It is a great reminder of the love of a God so big that He came in the form of a little, helpless baby.
8. Jingle Bell Rock sung by Bobby Helms: The ultimate fun party classic Christmas song. Whenever I hear this song I break into a smile and cannot help but to tap my foot.
9. The Christmas Song sung by Nat King Cole: "Chestnuts roasting on an open fire..." this perennial Christmas song has been a favorite of mine since I was a kid. I love listening to Nat King Cole's voice as he sings of "Jack Frost nipping at my nose." No Christmas morning is complete without listening to The Christmas Song.
10. Little Drummer Boy: I love to hear this song sung by a church choir. The rapapapums are soothing and I love the message of the song. Any song that sings of our dear Savior's birth are wonderful in my opinion! THe lyrics are simple and can be learned by children of all ages.
