We decided to travel there by train. As a college student at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, we were able to get there with ease. I traveled there with one companion, my fiancé. She was from the surrounding area of the University and she was familiar with this spring break custom. When we arrived in New Orleans, we stayed at a hotel called Royal St. Charles Hotel. This hotel is ideal because it has a good history for catering to college students in an agreeable and honest price range. We reserved one room on a non-smoking floor. We did not miss any class nor did we miss any exams because we took this trip during our University's spring break. In a brief review I can say that the total cost that we spent on the trip was upwards around $1500. My fiancé and I paid for it cooperatively, and we made every dollar go as far as it could. We saved up heavily in advance for this trip and it all paid off in the end.
All in all, I can truly say that choosing New Orleans as our 2010 spring break destination was a great idea. Being in that city gave us a sense of newfound excitement and exploration. We tried all the latest dishes and all the famous treats that New Orleans is famous for. One thing that we liked above all others was the weather during the time we visited. The skies never failed us as we moved throughout the festivities. With the city's rich history and variety of cultural flavor, we had our hands full for the entire five days we spent there.
