My 2010 New Years Resolution, Weight Loss

Sexy Mama
Every year people make New Year's resolutions with the intent to keep them. I do not think anyone goes into it thinking, "yeah, I will make this promise and then break it a week later", but somehow that is what always seems to happen. New Year's resolutions vary from weight loss and eating healthy, to keeping up with family better, or drinking and smoking less or quitting all together.

I am 5'3" and weight about 215; this by the doctor's chart falls under obese. I am large breasted to boot so I do not stand a chance. Exercise is difficult for me due to my larger than normal upper endowment. Sit-ups are impossible and running gives everyone around me a good laugh. My ideal weight is somewhere around 135 for my height and frame. I have not seen that since middle school.

To keep my New Year's resolution this year I plan to use the following ideas. When I was pregnant with all of my children, I had Gestational diabetes. Because of this, I had to measure my food and watch what I ate. By measuring my food and eating certain foods, I was able to come out of all three pregnancies weighting less than when I went into them and had healthy babies all three times. Green beans are a free food on a low sugar diet; they can be cooked by themselves, fried in eggs and many other variations, your only limited by your imagination just use restraint when adding the cheeses and meats in large amounts. Also by eating only ½ cup of any type of starchy foods like potatoes or macaroni and cheese, you will lower your sugar as well as your waistline.

My friend is getting the Gastric Lap-Band surgery on Dec. 14 of this year. When she is able to eat solid foods, again I plan on using her meal plan and eating the same as her as much as possible. This will help me as well as her because we will eat the same amount and we will both be each other's support system. One of my greatest downfalls is lack of motivation and boredom. Without someone keeping me motivated, I will tend to go back to old habits.

I plan to cook less as well. I have a very bad habit of cooking too much. I look at a meal and think that will not be enough so I always cook more. Whole bags of noodles, three boxes of hamburger helper, the list goes on and on and we always have more than enough to eat along with leftovers that never seem to be eaten. This is not only wasteful but my husband and I both have eating disorders. If its there, we will eat it. I mean come on, you can't let it go to waste, and it is always better the first time around, right?

Another close friend of mine has recently lost 25 pounds by drinking more water. She carries around a water bottle that she got as a gift. Three full jugs of water a day, she cut out all of her pop, lost the weight in only a few weeks, and has been able to keep it off.

If I try and still cant succeed I have considered the Lap Band this will insure my New Years Resolution of weight loss is a success.
