When my own granddaughter Kylie Ann, became an angel four and a half years ago, I began a quest that is still growing strong today. You see little Kylie Anne died in the uterus at just 31 weeks of age; it was a very sad time and one that will never be forgotten.
It was easier for me to believe she was an angel, soaring high above and watching over us daily. So I began my angel collection in memory of her. At first I just wanted a baby angel to hang beside a plague I got that read "I believe in Angels" So after looking around locally and not finding anything that yelled for my attention, I turned to eBay. I found an Angel at a good price and thus my collection began. I guess you could say my addiction was born.
I would find little angels now and then locally that I liked. My family and friends bought me some for various gifts, and now my little collection is well over 100 in just those few short years. I have water globe angels, figurines, wind chimes, an angel clock, pictures, candleholders, and many fiber optic angels.
My angels fill the upper shelves of my two bookshelves, and I have two shelves free hanging on the wall that hold more angels. Sometimes I turn a few of them on, and turn off the overhead lights. The glow coming from my larger angels' kind of displays the others in a bright ever-changing light.
Currently I have 10 Angels of the Ray Chia Collection and they are truly awesome. All of them are at least 17 inches tall and have fiber optics all over them. All of my Ray Chia Angels have been purchased off eBay. Only one of them was brand new and came in the original box, and I searched that box for a company name. An internet search turned up nothing. I would love to see the whole collection, although my checkbook would hate it.
To tell you the truth I do search on eBay weekly for more, even thought I have been able to control my addiction for a few months. It is easy to control when I cannot find them. These seem to be very popular, either that or someone is hording them. If anyone reading this knows of a web site or store that sells these, please leave a comment below.
