My Adulterous Hero

x
Say it ain't so, bro!

It's really
None of my business
I know

On lunchbreak
I know where you go
Down low

You and Sue
Leave in separate cars
Then meet

Rondezvous
The No-Tell Motel
Discreet

Say it ain't so, dude!

Missus B
Ain't the girl she used
to be

Years put on
A few lines and pounds
I see

Is that why
We sneak away from
the plant

So Sue can
Please you in a way
She can't?

Say it ain't so, man!

Your daughter
So beautiful and sweet
YOUR girl

She thinks you
Hung the moon, you are
Her world

How can you
Look into her eyes
and lie

If she knew
What you were into
She'd die

Say it ain't so, sir!

Yes, I know
It ain't none of my
Business

Still, you know
I'll keep my mouth shut
'Bout this

You really
Ain't the man I thought
you were

What if some
Guy like you wed your
Daughter?

SAY IT AIN'T SO, BOSS!

Up to 70% of American men cheat (in Thailand, it's more like 90%) so I think this is pretty much the norm. Honestly, I'm not so sure it's a bad thing. I don't think nature intended anyone to be with the same person for 50-plus years all the time. In Thailand, they reckon it actually helps marriages as, whereas the guy would leave his wife because of wanting someone else, most of the time he actually stays because having 'a bit on the side' is acceptable here.

This sort of activity goes on in all types of industries. Eventually the significant other finds out.

It makes me cry just thinking about it. I know what you mean.

    Keep writing.

You really did a great job on this. I can feel your emotions as you found out the truth about a man you previously admired.

It's amazing how a person we like, think well, are friends with, can do something that would ruin their own life and their families life with seemingly little thought to the consequences. good job!

Amen, Steve. Neither do I! Like I said, he ain't the man I thought he was!

This is a solid poem with real feelings. I have no sympathy for those individuals that cheat on their spouses.

This is a great poem but also very sad that a man cheats on his wife! WOW! Now, you've got a very original poem here, Mike and I enjoyed it, especially how you in the poem wish it weren't true. I also love the line, "Hung the moon." WOW!
