My Analysis of the First Year of Barack Obama as President of the United States
There Were Lots of Promises During the Campaign, but Did He Deliver?
Early in the reign of Barack Hussein Obama there was an issue in which a black college professor named Henry Gates. Professor Gates, who is a personal friend of Obama, was arrested while himself and a driver trying to get into his home that he had lost the keys to or something and basically broke into his University owned home. The police responded to call of a break in and asked for professor Gates to provide identification. He then did, according to his own words, get disorderly and further started bringing the officers mother into it. The officer did warn him but Gates kept at it and got arrested by Sgt. James Crowley. Instead of learning all of the facts, Barack Obama took the professor's side and said the police acted "stupidly". I could have dealt with him saying something like the police may have been hasty. Obama did apologize though and offered to have professor Gates and Sgt Crowley to the white house for a beer to discuss thing. Vice President Joe Biden joined them.
I am a conservative Christian and make no apologies about it. As such I do not believe homosexuality is what God intended for mankind. I firmly believe it is a choice, but people are trying to believe they are born gay or not. I have extended family members that are gay and I try to be tolerant of such. I believe in love the sinner, but hate the sin. I believe gay marriage as such is a state issue and not an issue that should be decided at the federal government. Barack Obama made several promises to pander to the gay vote and money during his campaign. One of these was that he stated that he wanted to lift the ban on gay in the military. This is often referred to as don't ask don't tell and was done under President Bill Clinton. Basically you can't be asked if you are gay, but if you say you are then you are drummed out of the service. Obama has done nothing on the issue for the people he promised. He further implied he would try to have the Defense of Marriage Act repealed. Again no action has been taken. While I am a big supporter of DOMA, and undecided on gays in the military, I do think it's wrong to use people to get elected and not keep their promises. If I were gay I would be very offended by him. They get no more rights then they would have under a conservative president and also get their pocket picked more.
One of Obama's first policy issues was the economic stimulus. This had bi-partisan opposition in the House were all 177 Republicans and eleven democrats opposed the Bill. There is a claim of bi-partisan support in the Senate. The reality is that all but three republicans opposed it. Two of those who voted for it are from Maine and vote like Democrats enough of the time anyway and Arlen Specter decided to take his ball and go home when he thought he could not win a primary as a Republican so he became a Democrat. There was more pork in the bill for liberals than there are is in a sausage and salami factory. The President claimed this would save or create a large roughly on million jobs including many new jobs in fields like green energy. Various bi-partisan organizations now say there is no real way to account for how many jobs the stimulus has created or saved and created have been "grossly miscalculated". The final tallies probably won't be uncovered until Obama is removed from power, but I am sure it will show that for the most part it was a waste. There was need, but not for that large of an amount. Obama and the Democrats are on a spending spree. Obama claims that you need to spend your way out of the recession caused by speculation and overspending. That is really stupid and similar to saying you need to "Drink you way to sobriety" or "F**king for virginity". Both of those analogies who just how stupid it is.
The wars that are raging in Afghanistan and Iraq also have plagued Obama. In all fairness to him, change does not come overnight. The sad thing is that he knew that people though he was going to change things overnight and bring the troops home right away. He used that misinterpretation of his message as leverage to an office he is not qualified to hold. For that reason I think the criticism is warranted. Many have said that you can't just bail out and he is finally realizing that. He also has faced problems dealing with Afghanistan. His generals have asked for 40,000 more troops. In his wisdom Obama offered 30,000 but has timetables on when we will leave. This gives the enemy the idea that they can just tread water and we will leave with our tail between our legs. For what it is worth people in the military and veterans supported McCain much more over Obama. They do have to respect him, but I am sure many do not agree with his decisions. On the other side you have liberals made that he gave them the 30,000 troops when he campaigned on bringing them home. The job is not as easy as you though it was. Is it?
So far during his reign Obama was placed one activist judge on the U.S. Supreme Court. David Souter was nominated by President George H.W. Bush, but that S.O.B. Souter always voted like a liberal. I firmly believe he knew he wanted to retire, but waited until Obama came to power to announce it. That and the way he votes on the court are really slaps in the face to the man who put him in the history books in President George H.W. Bush. In pandering to the Latino vote Obama nominated a Hispanic activist judge in Sonia Sotomayor. I firmly believe Obama clearly favors the black race and has issues with white people as can be verified in some of his own writings. The fact that he would not even consider a white male regardless of qualifications just further states the case.
In all fairness I do think she is more that qualified in many cases. I do feel she is a tad on the racist side and an activist judge. Her rulings on gun ownership issues are borderline at best. She has been pretty moderate on abortion issues. One of her most famous and controversial rulings was in the case of Ricci v. DeStefano. This case involved several white firefighters and one Hispanic firefighter who sued the city of New Haven because they would not certify a test for promotions that all of the plaintiffs passed. One of whom had dyslexia. The city wanted to throw the test out because no blacks who took the test passed it. This was clearly support of reverse racism. IF someone is too stupid to pass a test that does not make the test racist as other blacks had passed previous years. The case finally made it to the Supreme Court and the decision was reversed and found the cities actions to be discriminatory. This is one of the main things that concern me and anyone else who values freedom. She was very evasive during her senate confirmation hearings on issues that she might encounter. If there is one danger of the reign of Obama it is his actions on the Supreme Court shaping laws. They get a lifetime appointment. She also came under fire for comments she made that a "Wise Latina" could make better and fairer decisions than a "white man". Now if a white candidate said that in reverse he would not have a prayer. She also is very active with several pro illegal alien groups and groups that favor amnesty like La Razza. Illegal aliens are cockroaches who leach off of our country. One way they do that is by coming here and having kids known as "anchor babies" that automatically become citizens and often live on welfare and they end up in our prisons. There is no doubt in my mind she would be against interpreting the 14th amendment correctly that it was not designed to reward parents for committing a crime and giving the kid citizenship. Any amnesty issues or English language issues will also be dealt with bigotry from her.
President Obama also has not learned the basics of being a good president. Former President Clinton said it best "It's the economy stupid". Well many people voted for Obama thinking he would help the economy. If anything he has made it worse. As show the stimulus did not create jobs. It really just wasted money and put pork projects for senators. Unemployment is at 10%. He said it would not go beyond 8.5% (YOU LIE). One thing that does not help, and this is no fault of Obama, is that one day reports come out saying things look ok. Then the next day jobless claims are up. The next week a report will show that there is minor job growth then housing values are down. It is like the economy has been oscillating more than I can ever think of since Reagan was in office. Also the job loss this past year was reported on MSN to be the largest in a year since 1945. Like everything else Obama does not want to own it, but passes the blame on the former administration. Various media outlets have noted that he has blamed more on the previous administration than any president in the media age.
He continued bank bailouts that President Bush started. I thought they were a bad idea then and still do, especially when the banks are still tight fisted with their money.
The idea of the bail outs was to keep our financial system lending and liquid. Obama also tried to bail out the U.S. auto industry. Some are stupid enough to think this was patriotism for the USA. That is crap. The bailouts were payback for the union support to bring him to power. Unions are often pro democrat. Since they want much more money than their jobs are typically worth and want to do as little work as possible (police, teachers, fire and so forth unions are not what I am talking about but things like Teamsters and UAW). Large sums of money were poured into Chrysler and General Motors and both still went bankrupt. Many good hard working Americans lost their jobs or life savings since the companies went bankrupt. We probably will never see most of that money come back to the taxpayer. I have always bought American cars. After the bankruptcies and people losing jobs and life savings I will never buy a Chrysler or General Motors product again. Ford was able to handle themselves so I will buy a Ford. Furthermore more UAW workers lost their jobs under Obama than Bush, Clinton, or George W. Bush. So far it does not look to good on how he is handling the economy.
The healthcare debate has been at the heart of Obama's agenda. Initially many voters liked the idea, but it now looks like healthcare is exposing Obama for who and what he is and probably going to cost some democrats their house or senate seats. There were a variety of issues in it that concerned people. The first was how to pay for it. Basically there would be a government mandate to buy insurance or pay a fine. This would be the first time that a private citizen in the U.S. would be required to buy a specific product. There were also concerns about tax payer funds going to pay for abortions and the possibility of the money covering illegal aliens. The bill does that that illegal aliens won't be covered, but there were initially no safeguards in the House plan and still are no safeguards in the Senate plan. Every effort by republicans to put safeguards into the bill meets with opposition from democrats. During a joint session of Congress South Carolina Rep. Joe Wilson shouted "you lie" at Barack Obama when he said the bill would not cover those here illegally in a direct challenge to the president. At that time the house did put measures in place as soon the incident broke. Nancy Pelosi's Jaw dropped when he said that and he reaction was funny as anything. He received an admonishment from the House for this. Of course many blacks and black leaders wanted his head for this. The cost of the bill will place us in debt and is considered to add to the budget deficit while taking various dollars from Medicare. This is pretty stupid as seniors vote pretty frequently. It is figured that Obamacare, as it is being called by the financially responsible, will be one 6th of the U.S. economy. This is the same government that has not been able to handle cash for clunkers, Social Security, or the postal system. Across the country there were town hall meetings about this and many people were very upset. Of course the democrats accused people of being bused into to disrupt the meetings. They became know as the Tea Party. I personally think they are a legit reaction to people being disgusted by the way that that President and Congress have gone on a spending spree with the tax payer money.
The healthcare bill was the worse example of corruption and partisanship at the hands of a political party since Kennedy stole the presidential election in Chicago. Initially there were several democrats that did not like the bill. Some were bullied into voting for it against the wishes of constituents and other were flat out bribed. Senator Mary Landrieu of Louisiana sold out her vote for 300 million to help with Louisiana's share of the Medicare Tax that will be shifting to state responsibility with less federal help. Some states actually might be getting out of Medicare forcing people to go to the exchanges that force them to buy insurance they could not afford anyway. Senator Ben Nelson was against the bill because he does not believe in abortion but signed off on the limited language in the bill in return for Nebraska being exempt from having to pay its share of Medicaid forever. This means 49 other states will have to pick up the slack so he could get a bribe from the very corrupt Majority Leader Harry Reid. One Senator said that the only thing bi-partisan about the bill was the opposition. In the senate all 58 democrats voted for the bill and the two independents. In the house only one republican voted for it. Incidentally he is from a district that is like 70% black and his district wanted to do a recall election for him not supporting Obama's stimulus plan. The only reason many feel he even won in that district is because the Democrat who had the seat was convicted of various crimes. Several Democrats in the house voted against the bill. The two bills are both very different and there is not much room on each. It is very possible they will not be able to reconcile the bill and republicans will filibuster it if one Democrat in the Senate breaks ranks over an issue. The House measure passed by like three votes so it also can't afford to lose anyone. I think in the Senate Blanche Lincoln will probably be voted out of office over this. Mary Landrieu might be as might Jim Webb and some of the other senators from southern states with Democrats representing them. Most polls show Americans are overwhelmingly against the bill and the leaders are just saying they don't care and will do what they want.
With only 46% of American approving of the job that he is doing it is fair to say that American is not buying what Obama and company are selling. McCain and others tried to warn people, but they are not listening until it is too late. Obama still enjoys 90% plus positive ratings from blacks who (many) follow him in a mindless way and know nothing about that man. Many blacks don't agree with issues and stances of Barack Obama when they are broken down, like abortion, the war on terror, bail outs, and telling you what you have to buy, but when asked overall it comes to a very high number. Some of the early indications that America was getting fed up is that Virginia and New Jersey both voted for Obama for President, but voted for Republican governors. In Virginia it was by a pretty good margin. Of course Obama dismisses this as being about local issues. New York district 23 did go to a Democrat for the first time in years but just barely. This was in large part because people voted for a republican candidate who voted and sided with Democrats on most issues instead of the conservative party candidate. Many still voted for the Republican candidate and that disgrace endorsed the very liberal democratic candidate. This is cutting your nose off to spite your face. The late Edward Kennedy's seat is up for a special election and the Republican candidate is actually giving the democrat a run for her money in a state that often votes heavily democrat. Even if he loses by five points it still should show how fed up people are getting with Barack Hussein Obama. People overall don't think Obama is handling the economy well, people are really ticked off about healthcare. Republicans are not very popular either, but much of that is still from the Bush days. People also don't support the way that Barack Obama seems to be babying terrorist instead of handling them the way President Bush did. There have been more terrorist attempts in this country since Obama has been in office in one year than the entire post 9-11 term of George W. Bush.
The first term of Barack Obama is pretty rough. I never thought he was qualified to be President. Much issue has been made about his race as far as pride of him being the first half white president. The reality is he is making race relations worse it seems. There are more hate groups popping up and America seems more divided than ever. There is also serious double standard being applied. Harry Reid had been found to make some insensitive comments during the campaign that came out. Obama accepted an apology as did the racist group the Congressional Black Caucus (they refuse to admit rights, so try not to call them racist), and his party. You might recall that Joe Wilson was admonished just for saying "you lie" with no racial comments. There clearly is a double standard being applied. I honestly believe that the decline of America and western civilization in general can be tied to Barack Hussein Obama being elected President. I actually read something the other night on a social networking site that I think describes this perfectly paraphrased. In history books the words that can be traced at the beginning of the end for the former United States of America will be "I Barack Hussein Obama". IN other words as soon as he took office it was the beginning of the end. The race thing only hurts are Democrats are more and more concerned with handing Obama wins and having a good legacy than doing what is right for the country or what America wants. Healthcare is a prime example. Take a look at polling. America does not want Obamacare, but it was passed by both houses anyway. That should tick any American off even if you support Barack Obama's policies. If you love America then you should want this guy out off office in four years and his henchmen out as the time for re-election comes.
God Bless and Help american.
