My Apology to Jets Fans and Other Thoughts

Jacob Horn
Raise your hand if you have been a harsh critic of the Jets regarding the way they made the playoffs. Okay, I have both hands raised. The Jets did indeed back into the playoffs, if you cannot admit that you are delusional. With that being said, they have now earned the right to be there. The Cincinnati victory did nothing for me. Beating San Diego in Diego was impressive. I had San Diego pegged as a sleeper pick to make the Super Bowl. I mean I know they were the 2 seed in the AFC but nobody was really talking about them, and now I see why. I just don't know what to think about the Jets chances against the Colts. On one hand I am afraid the Colts blow them out, on the other hand something tells me some weird stuff could happen. I am still very sore about the Colts choosing not to go for an undefeated season. The Jets made the playoffs because the Colts gave up in Week 16. How ironic would it be if the Jets were the team to knock the Colts out? I cannot think of a better scenario. All I have to say is, J-E-T-S Jets Jets Jets Jets!!!

I thought Arizona and Dallas would put up more of a fight but they didn't. Minnesota and New Orleans came hobbling into yesterdays games but they completely dismantled their oponents. The NFC game is so hard to pick but I think I will go with Minnesota vs. Indianapolis in the Super Bowl.

Brian Westbrook and Ed Reed are considering retirement. That really caught me off guard. Not so much with Westbrook but I had no idea Ed Reed would be even close to considering it. I have a nagging feeeling this could become a trend in the NFL simply because players are becoming more aware, from a medical standpoint and on a deeper level, of the injuries associated with the game.

Gaines Adams death was incredibly sad. I remember watching him play during his time at Clemson and if my memory serves me correctly he was the number two pick the year he came out. It just goes to show you have to attempt to enjoy every moment because you never know when it will end.
