My New Approach to Life

"What's the Point in Waking Up When Everything I Do is Going to Be a Mistake?"

Fatimah
I definitely think I'm over this world we've been told to live in. Nothing is ever what it should be, everything we do is either wrong or not good enough. Sometimes I want to go shopping and hang with the guys. Other times I couldn't be happier lying in bed all day listening to my ipod or watching bad DVDs, no matter how great things are outside. There are times I think to myself "what's the point in waking up when everything I do is going to be a mistake?" I know your all probably thinking I'm emo or something, but its so hard trying to please everybody without f****** things up for yourself (even though our governments already doing a great job of that).

That's why i've decided to just not care. I'll eat what I want, I'll go where I want, I'll like who I want, and I'll dress however the hell I want, and anyone that has a problem with my lifestyle can get stuffed because I refuse to be a person that I can't even stand. There are so many girls around these days who have nothing better to do but get ridiculously dressed up so they can hang out at the local shops, waiting around for some dropkick chauvinistic guy to show up and 'charm' them. And this is the way we communicate?

Then it's these lowlifes that believe they are the superior beings in this wonderful world finding great pleasure in belittling those they find 'different'. What exactly is different, what is normal? Listening to mainstream music? Dressing in the latest supre gear? Or maybe it's being blissfully unaware of the world's dramas? Many of us go through life ignoring what is happening around us." We're young, why should we care?" we should care because this is reality and this is happening to our world, our lives.

There are so many people I know that think homeless people are on the streets because of their own doing, but it's wrong just to make those kinds of assumptions. No one chooses to sleep in the gutters sometimes that just the most comfortable place. Consumerist stereotypes want us to be all one thing, and magazines have tailor made these images and you must make your lifestyle choices based on them.

And, you needn't think of deviating outside that 'cause you most certainly won't be cool or successful. But, f***, people aren't just one thing or at least they shouldn't be. They're so many intricacies and anomalies all bottled up, chucked in a blender and then reconstituted into a life sized decision making person. If you want to wear black and listen to emo or heavy metal, then so be it. If it's making you happy then nothing else should matter. Life is so short why would you even care what someone else thinks. Worry about your mum and your boyfriend/girlfriend, that'll take up enough of your time.
