SEO (Search Engine Optimization) article writing is the new way to attract viewers to your content. In contrast to normal print publication where headlines create interest, SEO uses keyword-stuffed articles to attract a higher result on search engines.

To be successful with SEO writing, it's important to keep a flow going within the article while still maintaining a healthy dose of keywords placed strategically in the text. Instead of letting prose speak for itself, SEO writing requires the writer to be cognizant of his word count, and average keyword placement. By managing a solid number of keyword insertions, the article will lend itself well on search engines, thereby attaining a high-SEO score.

Many successful SEO writers produce content on multiple sites. Some of the popular sites for keyword-stuffed content are associatedcontent.com, helium.com, and demandstudios.com. These sites usually compensate writers up-front for their efforts, but reward them on the back end as well through page-view production. Therefore, the more adept the writer is at keywording his SEO article, the more views he will garner, and the more money he will make in residual income from these sites.

Some popular subjects that lend themselves well to SEO writing are sports, how-to specifics, and data sheets. Search engines are designed to look for top-hit keywords, and these types of articles are generally littered with search-specific keywords.

There is a huge market for how-to articles on the Internet. With the advent of this technology, consumers no longer need to consult experts, libraries, or even friends to figure out certain tasks. Many freelance writers have mastered the SEO technique (and have thus created a living online) by writing these how-to articles. The market seems bottomless for these articles.

Further, with the decline of the print market, many writers are forgoing attempts to write for more historic forms of publications, and have opted instead to use SEO to write about politics, economics, and international topics. The SEO strategy can be implemented in nearly all forms of online production, and has been adopted by not only aspiring writers, but also by corporations and major advertising agencies to increase traffic and revenues.

The most important thing to remember when developing an SEO-based article is to keep the conversation and narrative flowing as naturally as possible since, of course, page views can be increased cheaply and shoddily, but dedicated readership demands quality content.

    I think you summed it up nicely when you noted "dedicated readership demands quality content." Keywords are important for those searching for material but ultimately, article live or die on the quality of the writing and content :) Nice topic!
