Costume: A baby/toddler, Bedtime child, Sleepy time kid.
Items needed (some are optional): night gown, bib, teddy bear, slippers with rough bottom to wear outside, pacifier, bottle, bonnet & pretty much anything else you can think of to make you look like a baby. For Male: You can get matching sweat pants and sweatshirt. Light blue would look great! Long johns would well too.
How I put it together: Very simple to put together. I wore a night gown that came just about to my knees and wore short underneath. At the time we lived in VA but I don't remember it being cold out that night. I borrowed a bid, baby bottle and pacifier from my next door neighbor. I put on some slippers that had rough bottoms so they would be similar to shoes. I put the pacifier on a long necklace & wore the necklace. I held the teddy bear and I think I put the bottle between my bears paws making him hold it for me.
Other ideas that I didn't use: Make rosy cheeks and put freckles on your face. Girls can put their hair in pig tails tied with ribbons. Homemade cloth diaper (over tights or pants of course!) Find a bonnet and an over sized bottle at a costume store. Costume stores also carry over sized pacifiers. Carry or drag around a blanket. This is a great theme for a couple! The female dresses as a baby girl and male dresses the baby boy!
Why I loved this costume: First off it was easy and something you don't see very often. I've heard of people winning "Best Costume." The comments I got the night I went out were great! I am very shy so I was worried what people would think. One man smiled and told me "Boy that takes guts!" But other people would just laugh and tell me what a great idea. It was a hit.

Post a CommentGood article. I dressed up as a baby quite a few times when I was younger. It's an easy costume and it doesn't cost a lot to dress up.
