My Best Travel Experience

Our best holiday travel experience was to Greece in the summer for our honeymoon. We decided to head over to the islands of Santorini and Mykonos. Everything about this trip was memorable, the relaxation , the adventures, the people, the islands with their own different characters, the sunsets, the photographs, the breathtaking views and overall the memories.

The People of the greek Islands

The warm, welcoming, friendly and accommodating people of Greece made our holiday travel experience a memorable and pleasant experience. At no point was anyone rude to us. Everyone seemed to be relaxed and living life at a pace much slower than in the US.

Athens

We visited the beautiful Acropolis at sunset and watched the sunset from the hilltop. The architecture here is breathtaking and can be only experienced first hand.

Santorini

We took a flight from Athens to the gorgeous Greek island of Santorini. It has by far been the most impressive,beautiful, stupefying and breathtaking place I have ever experienced in my life. Since this was our honeymoon and we wanted to make this holiday travel experience a very special one we reserved a hotel on the Caldera with a private balcony with a private jacuzzi overlooking the Aegean Sea and with spectacular views of the world famous sunset. We were served a very Greek, American Champagne breakfast every morning on our private balcony.

This boutique hotel was in Thira. We rented a quadbike and ventured across to the towns of Kia, Imerovigli and Akrotiri. Kia is the most famous for its white and blue domes and the views of the spectacular sunset.

Mykonos

Each island in the Greek islands has a character of its own. While Santorini is beautiful, Mykonos is known for its party scene. We camped at the Paradise beach from 4pm to the wee hours of the morning and danced to the various DJ's who were performing at this beach.

Overall this trip was the most memorable experience of my life and by all means the best holiday travel experience.
