I've been bicycle commuting full time for three years now. I got my Xtracycle Radish cargo bike about six months in, and I've added a few things here and there '" lights, tools, a frame pump, a water bottle holder, etc. But there are still things I'd like to have, if I could. Here's my wish list.
Car Rack
The Xtracycle is too long to fit in the back of our van by itself, let alone with other bikes and/or passengers. I'd like to be able to take our bikes camping, or to the beach, or to organized rides. Racks that accommodate an Xtracycle are a little harder to find, but they do exist. For instance, RockyMounts makes rooftop mounts for Xtracycles, tandems and recumbents.
Down Low Glow
Down Low Glow lights illuminate your bike frame with neon light and are visible from the sides. I've been hit by a car that didn't notice my front headlight, and I bet this would have made them look!
Rain Gear
I've been riding in an old red poncho and green Columbia Sportswear rain pants (originally intended for hiking). They work, but it's not ideal. My rain pants are wearing out, and I've been losing weight, so I'd like to get actual bicycling rainwear. I'm leaning toward Novara pants and jackets, based on online recommendations.
Hybrid Bike
I don't always need the carrying capacity of the Xtracycle, but my old three-speed really isn't up to snuff any more. I'd like to have a simple bike that I could use for fun, or to take on transit, or to take to rides a little further from home. I'm not sure which brand or style I'd want, but I'd like to get a basic hybrid bike (combination of road and mountain bike), just for myself.
Seat Bag
This is a little bag that fits right underneath the saddle. I have plenty of cargo space on the Xtracycle, but sometimes I just want to bring a few things with me, and I don't need the racks and bags. A seat bag would fill this niche.
Saddle
I'm taking longer rides now, and on longer rides, my nether regions begin to go numb. I'm thinking a larger and/or cushier saddle might help. There are even saddles specifically designed for women!
