My Brother Should Have Been in Tunisia, with the Riots Going On

Susan Slade
When I was in England, back in August, my brother told me that he had booked a cheap vacation to Tunisia, in January, 2011.

A couple of weeks ago I heard that his wife hadn't been well. When speaking to my daughter last week, she told me that they had canceled the vacation, because his wife was not well enough to travel.

Last night my brother phoned me, and told me what good fortune is was, that his wife had been sick. Friday January 7th, she went to the doctor's office, and got a certificate saying she could not travel.

Due to the power shift In Tunisia, many of the cities have people firing guns, and looting. This must be a frightening sight for holiday makers.

This is a big tourist spot for the British, and the Foreign Office have a warning 'not to travel to Tunisia, unless it is essential travel'.

It has left tourists scrambling to get early flights home. British Airways are still continuing on with their flights, as of today.

There are 100 people feared dead, due to the riots, and gun fighting,

I am thankful that my family canceled their flights. They may have been disappointed early last week, when they couldn't go, but pleased to have not gone through all the torment, and worry. They are home, and safe.
