My Brother, a Soldier in Iraq, Left Five Kids and a Pregnant Wife Behind

Big Heavy C
My brother left behind five kids and a pregnant wife so he can go fight the war in Iraq.

When he first told me he joined the army I really never thought anything of it accept if thats what he wanted to go for it.

Never did I think he would be getting shipped to Iraq. He is so patriotic talking about how his friends have already went over and they aren't coming back and some one needs to defend there honor and fight for the U.S.A

I just pray that the Lord watches over all them cause they really need some one to, We got to talk briefly before he left he just wanted to know if the family was proud of him.

How can you answer some thing like that? Of course but he is leaving so much behind. But like he said there might not be nothing to come home to if he didn't go out there and fight for it.

Grand Daddy before he died he made us kids promise never to go in the war, In his words he fought for his family in War World II.

I asked my brother if he was scared. He said we are all scared but we have to do what we have to do to protect our family and our country besides it's not all that bad you get to see the world and play with guns!

My family has taken it will we have his pictures on the wall and momma finally quit crying after about a week. and occasionally some weird number will show up and it will be my brother.

I asked what is life like being a soldier he said to listen to the song American Soldier by Toby Keith and that should give you the best view.

I can only imagine how my brothers wife feels about it maybe some time in the near future I will interview her.

Remember to never take your freedom for granted cause there is people out there fighting for you.

Please keep all the troops and their families in your prayers!

Take care and God Bless.

Your brother is why the United States IS the United States! His "patriotic talking about how his friends have already went over and they aren't coming back and some one needs to defend there honor and fight for the U.S.A" shows the best of our nation, and he is clearly among the best. Please let him know that MOST Americans appreciate his sacrifice and my love and admiration for such a fine man are overwhelming.

At the risk of sounding cold, why was this a surprise that he was called over there? I mean... if he was in the military, he and his family should have known that it was a very real possibility. If you don't want to go to Iraq, don't sign up for the armed forces. My friend's husband also just left... like two days ago. They just had a baby last month.

God bless them all, but still, it was their decision.

I am so sorry for your loss. My thought and prayers go out to you and your family.

I am a Toby Keith fan and proud of what he does for the military with all his tours over there. American Soldier is truly wonderful song.
