My Cat, Rudy

Poem to a Purring Pregnant Puddle of Pussycat

Barbara Neal
Last year my heart was smitten
By a friendly feral kitten
Can you imagine that?
Taken over by a cat.

In this familiar tale,
I thought he was a male
Surprise! She is the other.
Any day she'll be a mother.

She gets her way, of course.
An irresistible force
Who has become an object immovable.
The Paradox is now provable.

Her body seems so dense,
I rather get the sense
She'll collapse from massive gravity
Into a singular-i-kitty.

Update: She had a litter of four (which ties me with Vincent ;) ). Mother and babes are all fine and healthy. This time I'll let the vet decide on their respective genders. -B

LOL!, Vincent, I should have known you are a cat person. Yup, as soon as we can safely do it, Mama and babes will get snipped.

We have five kitties! We'd best not have any more. Glad to say they've been neutered.

I wish there was an option to move the left-side adblock to the right side or bottom. It's very difficult to fit a proper poem format around an ugly, intrusive ad. Takes away from the aesthetic.
