Raised by my heritage, grown a little wild.
We have grown closer
than any Dad and kid.
We even share the same thoughts,
as me and my dad did.
It's time to get my smaller self
from the school; now it's time.
We had spent our week together
Now Mom can clean the grime.
Deciding to just walk to school,
I see the smoke a clearing.
Apparently the kids are playing,
but only one is cheering.
Now I have to hide my child,
I see the parents now.
Their children look like food chewed up,
but my child just starts to howl.
Someone has been fighting,
but is wearing a big smile.
My child took on three big boys
and put them in a pile.
"Time to go", I yelled out loud,
grabbing a size four jeans.
Heading for the crooked creek,
we know what life means.
Skipping rocks on the road,
busted a car windshield.
Running from the seriousness,
we hold a fake sword and shield.
It's time to give up my thoughtful child.
Mommy's on her way.
Wearing a black-eye received from school,
Praising a dad-filled day.
Jeans are torn and face is black
from the day that school has started.
Joking about why I see the cops
and when the teacher farted.
While Mommy heads in my direction,
her pace is picking up.
The face I see in the well-lit moon
looks nothing like a cuddly pup.
She's growling again as usual,
her child is grime and grid
My parenting skills are challenged,
As she gently picks up my kid.
The officer politely asks,
his voice very mild.
"Have you seen the neighbor's cat,
as we look into our child.
"Apparently there's been a fight
with some boys on the school.
And a car has been vandalized,
and the owner lost his cool."
"Some one took a big ole' hammer
and broke the school bell."
"We have a small fire started
and the statues look like hell".
"It seems to me your son has had
a fiasco on the town".
He pushed the mower in the stream,
and he painted the city hall
with a picture of a clown"
As my child looks at the cop.
She says, "Daddy, I"ll see you soon".
We're gonna play all next week,
Show up with a blue balloon.
"I will always love you,
But i have to go with Mom".
"It'll only be for two days'
then teach me how to make a bomb"
And as they left, the officer lifted up the hat.
And saw my precious angel and forgot all about that.
He said with a gleeming smile, "In your hair, I see a swirl"
She kicked the officer in the knee,
"Andofficer,..I'm a girl".
