My Contest Entry: Why We Want To Redo Our Living Room

Cassie Mae
As a mother of three boys, my living room is trashed! When my twins were 2 years old, the redhead managed to stab holes on the arms of our blue recliner. Since then, we literally have black duct tape on both arms. How embarrassing when company comes over! Also, when you sit down in the chair, it automatically pops up your feet. My 94-year-old grandpa thought he was trapped last week when he sat down!

The little black entertainment center's doors have fallen off many times. It's been eaten on the bottom by the vacuum causing white chips.
The other twin, at two years old, managed to break a beautiful ceramic lamp on an end table. Thankfully my parents had two end tables in their basement. They are out of date and really not our style (one looks like it has a brandy barrel under it!!! It even says "Brandy" on it)! They are all scratched up, but the lamps are safe and attached to the tables!

The light blue sectional couch we could afford we bought from an ad at Wal-Mart someone had in their basement. We wanted to buy "test" furniture before nice pretty furniture we really want! Our oldest is now nine and the twins are seven.

We feel we are beyond ready for new comfortable furniture to relax on after a hard days work. The living room is where we gather to read as a family and have movie nights.

Right now it isn't in our budget but when I heard this contest on WTMJ4 news, I knew I had to enter!!!!

Thank you for your consideration.

*Unfortunately the date was February 15, 2008, in large print. After writing this up, the living room was chosen already on January 19th. Bummer! I know I would have won. Don't you think so?
