About a year ago I inherited this cubicle from my senior who resigned to work in an auditing firm outside the country. It was a bit small but enough for me to spend my audit work in the office. Most of the time I do my fieldwork so I technically I spend about six months of stay inside my cubicle.
As I spend my time with my cubicle, I got to maximize its use since our work environment is something that we, individually, are able to get a hold of our time. From time to time I get to sleep inside my cubicle without the others noticing. I just lean my head against the cubicle wall while facing my computer. Others would think I was working while I lean on the wall so I usually get away from the idea that I'm sleeping at work (laughs out loud)!
My cubicle is also my dining area. Whether its breakfast, lunch or dinner I make use of my cubicle as my dining place. I usually invite by best friend and other friends to join me while we eat and bond while doing it. It really is one factor why we got to become closer with each other.
Lastly, I took advantage on the use of my cubicle by playing internet games, especially when it is past office hours. During this time I get to communicate with my online friends around the world by playing the same game. And yes, we play it together. My cubicle gave me the opportunity to meet other people and create new friendships.
Now that I'm leaving I feel a bit sad that I'm going to miss my cubicle. The things that I usually do in here will always be on mind and I think I'm going to think about it when I finally leave the building. By starting in a new work environment I will try to maximize the use of my new work area and hopefully my growth will continue to prosper. Whether I leave or not, this cubicle has become a part of my professional life. I am going to take a photo of my cubicle as a souvenir.
