My Dr. Seuss Version of the Uniqueness of Moms

No two are alike--every mom is unique
Some have a sexy or squishy physique
Her hair might be blond, red, brown or black
Some will have butterflies tattooed on their back

Perhaps Moms are blissful only in jeans
Moms come in 6 or even 16
Some mom's like chili and some like champagne
All moms' love chocolate, but not quiche Lorraine

Some moms will bake or just cook hot dogs
Moms empty pockets, forgiving gross frogs
One mom likes baseball and others croquet
Moms harshly query, "WHAT did you say?"

Sadly, for many, moms pass away
Mom's miss their mom every day
Lots of mom's sing, they paint or write
Some are quite rude and some too polite

Moms will beg to differ with you
Sometimes your business mom's poke into
Moms will not always choose your side
Moms can be scary like Jekyll and Hyde

Some wear high heels and some frilly dresses
No moms like spiders or houses with messes
Mom's can be silly or chronically crabby
Some moms are shy things or utterly gabby

Moms are unique, so please do not think,
Is my mom abnormal...the true missing link?
Moms will be moms and while poles apart
All moms share "one" true mommy heart!

I offer a heartfelt salute to all the brave women (especially my daughters) who dared to take on Motherhood. Honestly...what were you thinking! Happy Mother's Day! Carry on!
