I would use this University app to access all my courses in one simple touch. I could email my professors, ask questions to other classmates and check out the syllabus as well as any related reading material. It would be especially useful to see what textbooks are needed using this app. I would love it if there was a separate app that allowed you to search for the ISBN number of that textbook through all the major textbook websites online, to find you the cheapest one available. This would truly come in handy for those of us trying to save extra money on school supplies.
This special University iPad app would also allow us to purchase anything from the campus bookstore or gift shop with one easy touch and checkout. It would be linked to our student account, so that everything we purchased on our iPad or iPhone would be instantly added to our student bill. We can then have the option of having the items shipped to us for a fee or we can pick it up on the bookstore on our way to class. This would be extremely helpful for hungry college students on the run. We could browse through the campus cafés, select which food we wish to buy and instantly purchase it. We can then show proof of our purchase on our iPad and not have to stand in line with others. We can just take the food and go.
I would personally love to see a financial aid app that allows us to log into our student account and view our financial aid statement. We can check on the status of our student loans, Pell grants, work-study money and scholarships. It would tell us when each check is ready for pickup or will be posted to our account. We should be able to fill out pertinent paperwork through this app, such as our FAFSA or missing financial aid information. This way we can continue to do what we need to do as students and still make sure we will be financially secure without having to run around doing paperwork for the Financial Aid office.
All of these features in one University app would be an extremely useful idea for many of us college students today.

Post a CommentThat would be nice- so much convenience it likely will never get done. Apps always do goofy things, like find you the cheapest pants or something. :)
I'm off to England, so will read more when I return at the beginning of September.
Great idea! This would be great for any students.
