My Ebook Library: Organize Your Ebooks with This Free Program

This isn't something I set out to do, it's just the way things turned out. Every day, it seemed like I come across at least a dozen free ebooks about subjects I was interested in. And I couldn't not save them to my computer because, well, they were free.

The result was that I had dozens of these free ebooks saved to my computer. I tried to keep them organized: All of the ebooks were in one main folder, and they were separated and categorized into different subject folders. Still, while the system was adequate, I was really pleased to stumble across something better. And that something is My Ebook Library.

What Is My Ebook Library?

My Ebook Library is a freeware program designed to help you organize your ebook collection. Whether your collection is made up of paid ebooks, or the free ebooks so many of us are fond of, My Ebook Library will help you get them in order.

Adding Ebooks to My Ebook Library?

Adding new ebooks to My Ebook Library is simple. All you have to do is tell the program to search in certain folders for ebooks in the formats you have selected. My Ebook Library recognizes ebooks of several types, including PDF, HTML, CHM (which are HTML help files), EXE, RTF (ebooks in Rich Text Format) and more.

Once your ebooks have been searched for, and added to My Ebook Library, you can add information that will make the ebooks easy to keep organized.

Organizing Ebooks in My Ebook Library

To organize your ebooks, just enter the information about each ebook. You can add:

* The title.

* The name of the author.

* The name of the publisher.

* A description of what the ebook is about.

* The ISBN number, if the ebook has one.

You can also group your ebooks into categories that you create.

One feature I really like is the ability to rate the ebooks. If there comes a time when you want to prune your ebook collection, the ratings make things easier. If you have two ebooks on the same subject, and one only has 2 stars, while the other has 4 stars, you pretty much know which one to get rid of.

Finding Ebook Information

Just as Windows Media Player can help you find information about a song or album from the Internet, My Ebook Library can retrieve information about some of your ebooks from the free My Ebook Library Online Book Database.
