My Experience with Alternative Medicine

Donna Daniels
My Grandmother lived in the old country in a very secluded place. She had to practice alternative medicine and she taught my mother what she knew. Then my mother taught me what she knew about alternative medicine and I am teaching my children what I know about alternative medicine. Alternative medicine can cure a small problem or it can cure a frightening illness or it may not help a person at all. If you are ill, sick or injured you need to find what will help your get better. Alternative medicine may cure you.

I had intestinal problems in my teens and I was not gaining weight. I went on a cleansing fast for a month. I only drank organic juice and pure water and I also took a very aggressive internal cleansing herb. I healed and now I have trouble keeping the weight off but at least I feel good.

A few years later I developed some kidney trouble. I stopped eating sugar and drank parsley tea two or three times a day for a couple of months. I sure got tired of that parsley tea but I had an elimination of my kidneys that was not exactly pleasant and I recovered and am now healthy.

Did you ever have a urinary tract infection? My son did and I put him on cranberry juice. He drank cranberry juice and after an hour he felt better and was urinating properly. He keeps drinking cranberry juice and he no longer has troubles with urinary tract infections.

My family and I have had sinus infections that are cured with a drop of aloe astringent in each nostril a couple times a day until the sinus infection clears up. This is a regular winter problem that we all encounter at least once a winter.

Alternative medicine can cure but sometimes it doesn't really help. Pink eye was one problem I had that I could not cure. I put Aloe astringent drops in my pink eye and it did not clear up the infection. I went to see an eye specialist for that problem to by cured. Teeth are another problem that I have not found a way to cure.

Alternative medicine does not always help a problem but neither does conventional medicine. My son developed red oozing spots on his hands and feet after having the flu. We saw five doctors who all said they had never seen anything like it before but it was an infection of some kind. He was put on antibiotics of several kinds and none cleared up the infection so I decided to take the problem into my hands. I tried putting witch hazel straight on the infection and after only applying witch hazel once the infection started to clear up. I put the witch hazel on the infection several times that day and by the next morning the infection was gone.

The bottom line is sometimes traditional medicine works and sometimes alternative medicine works to cure a problem. If you have a problem keep trying different medical procedures and one of them just might solve the problem.
