My Experience With Identity Theft Protection

L J Pearce
Like most people out there I was and to a certain extent still am concerned about the amount of information out there available on me and about me. From my location to my name and my date of birth, there is more information than I care to declare, all of this of course makes it easy for people to take my identity and make life quite tricky for me. Having been a victim of identity theft a few years ago I did not want a repeat performance, so with this in mind, I set about finding a company that would protect my identity. Of course, I did not want to spend masses of money so I had to look for reputable and affordable identity theft companies. After asking family and friends who they used I finally settled on a company who guaranteed to protect my identity for just $10.99 a month.

The service and provider I am with guarantee my identity will not be stolen or used by anyone other than myself, which is nice to know. They also gave me a security system that I have recently installed on my computer which seems to be working and keeping my details safe.

After having my identity stolen I know how stressful it can be sorting everything out, from clearing your name, to sorting out and tracing exactly what thieves have done to your name and with your name. Due to the stress, time and hassle involved I enlisted the help of a company who cleared my name for me. The credit/identity company I used checked out all transactions and data used in my name and weeded out the fake from the real. This process took them 2 weeks, and was well worth the $200 I paid to them, as nothing is worth more than your sanity and peace of mind.

I really think that Identity theft prevention services are well worth their money and I wish I would have joined up to a service long before I did. Like with most things Identity theft prevention is a very big business and so there are lots of businesses and companies out there to choose from. Before making any decision as to who to pay and trust I found it valuable to find a bit out about the company. Having identity theft protection for a small amount of money each month has helped me get on with my life and not worry that my details are being passed around and used without my consent.
