My Experience Mystery Shopping

Charisma
I started mystery shopping because a woman I use to work for mention she use to be a scheduler for a company long time ago and paid her very well. The women I use to work for mention to me that mystery shopping was true. You do get paid to shop. This woman made me feel so excited that I gave it a try. Being a single mother and working two jobs was not enough to pay my bills. I work 12 hours each day.So one day I did research on my computer and type mystery shop, and a whole list appear. I never paid for a list of mystery shopping. I did my research and found a website name Volition.com, and mystery shopping association. This both sites would help you.

I started applying to the jobs, because I was just tired of working so many hours minimum wage. I wanted spend more time at home with my daughter. I couldn't' believe my eyes, there was a lot of company out there that needed mystery shoppers. So I applied to 50 of the mysteries shopping company. When I receive my first shops, I decide to quit my second job, and replace it with mystery shopping. In my head I thought well this is going to pay a little more that my second minimum job. I said to myself, I am not going to be all day at work. Couple of hours going to the stores and evaluating shoppers should be easy. Then going home and simply filling out services. Yeah right! Well my first job was a cell phone store it was pretty easy, for ten dollars. My second job was stores were I had to ask specific questions about a product and evaluate 5 people including cashier. This shop paid 8 dollars. I didn't want to do it for 8 dollars, because it was too much work for me, but I did the assignments. I did the assignment because wanted to get my feet wet, and discover the real life of mystery shopping. There are companies out there that they really paid well for assignments. The only thing is you need to do your homework. As for me now mystery shopping for a year, is fun, but could be a burn out. If you would like to know the pros, and cons of mystery shopping here they are.

What is mystery shopping? Mystery shopping is jobs were the store hire a person to go to their store and evaluate their services, or could audit the store. To be a mystery shopper you need to be very observant, pay attention to detail, be able to follow direction what the company gives you, and enter as much information in the report.

The pros of mystery shopping are you get free stuff; you get paid, and have fun. Sometimes you get a decent paid for a shop, that only takes you 10 -30 minutes to complete, and another 5 minutes to report on line. It also depends how fast you to enter all detail information on there website. Some shops paid 40- 50 dollars to visit apartments, and new homes. They don't take a long time to do. There are other shops that paid 7- 10 dollars to eat at restaurants. This shop will reimbursed for the meal, and pay you for your time. I like this because it is flexible. I could perform the shop or business any day and time they are open.

The cons of mystery shop are you search and wait to get approved for a job. This happens when you log in to the companies website and apply for a shop. Sometimes these shops take a while for you to get approved to shop. Sometimes you get these shops, and sometimes other shoppers are assigning to them. Is a big competition out there! You always need to be checking your website to view any new shops, and be ready to snatch them before other do. Second would be low pay shops for shops that take a long time to do, and lots of detail entering report. I had experience some shops that pay low and then require a long narrative .Third would be waiting to get paid. Sometimes companies paid fast, and some are very slow to process your payment. Some companies pay you weekly, monthly, and it also could take as two months to receive check. So be sure to have a back up.

Well my opinion of mystery shopping is, it could be fun, and could be a burn off. The fun part is going shopping, getting paid, and receiving free stuff. The bad part is waiting to get paid, and searching for jobs.
