I heard about Thirty Nine Dollar Glasses, at www.39dollarglasses.com from a friend, and decided to check them out. They have an excellent selection of glasses, all for the low price of $39 with new lenses, plus shipping costs. They also have a nifty "view glasses on model" (with different size and shapes of model head's available) so that users can get an idea of how a certain pair of glasses might look on their own face. I went ahead and ordered one pair and received the glasses within a week of placing the order.
Both glasses I had ordered from in-store business's were quite expensive. I paid easily over $100 for a new frame and new lenses, as my prescription had changed over the years. However, I only paid a paltry $39 (had a free shipping code, found online) for my set of glasses from 39 Dollar Glasses. As far as price goes, it's hard to beat ordering online for glasses. Now, it's true that Wal-Mart Vision center offers $38 glasses, but I didn't find as wide a selection of frames for these at Wal-Mart as I did for $39 online.
My online glasses were fairly comfortable. They do ask you to measure the distance between your eyes so that they send you a "fitted" pair of glasses. My glasses were slightly looser than I liked, but after adjusting them with the handy included mini-screwdriver, I found they fit quite nicely.
How accurate were my new online glasses with my prescription? They feel very similar to my current prescription, however, at my most recent vision check-up, the eye doctor informed me that my glasses were just a little bit off. This doesn't really bother me and there are many reviews from satisfied customers online, but it is something to be aware of. Different online glasses websites have different return policy's, so look into it before ordering.
I'm aware of several other places besides Thirty Nine Dollar Glasses to order glasses online, including Zenni Optical (with glasses as low as $8!). My friend ordered a sweet pair from Zenni and has reported no problems with it and really likes it. Definitely look into buying glasses online and look for coupon codes when you do. There are some swell deals out there for those willing to look around a bit, so keep your eyes open for great glasses!
