My Experience with Red Rock Canyon Grill in Jenks, Oklahoma

Mandy Hill
When my husband asked me where I would like to go eat for my birthday, it was not an easy decision. I wanted some place with a great atmosphere, but not loud because I love conversation. I also wanted a place that offered amazing food for a great price. I found everything I was looking for at the Red Rock Canyon Grill in Jenks, Oklahoma.

My husband and I live in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, so it was little bit of a drive to Red Rock Canyon Grill. It was very easy to get to, because it is conveniently located right off of our major turnpike, making it accessible from most places around. There was a lot of parking so we were able to park close and not have to walk a long ways. When we got inside, we were immediately greeted by the hostess who took our name. This was a Friday night, and they do not accept reservations, so we expected a long wait. The hostess said it would be about twenty to thirty minutes but, fifteen minutes later, we were seated. On our way to our seats, the shades over the windows came up and bells rang out. They were celebrating the sunset. This is a custom at Red Rock Canyon Grill. They celebrate it every evening.

Once seated, we were only there a few seconds when our server came to take our drink order. Shortly after, he returned to our table with our drinks and told us, in full detail, the specials for that evening. They all sounded very delicious. The neat thing about Red Rock Canyon Grill is that the menu is very small, and everything is made very fresh. There are not a lot of options, but they know how to please your taste buds. On our server's recommendation, my husband and I split what is called the "cluck 'n' oink." This plate comes with a generous portion of rotisserie chicken (which is one of their many specialties), ribs, home made mashed potatoes, and glazed carrots. Because we were sharing we decided to each get a salad as well, thinking it might not be enough food.

When our salads arrived, we ate them with enjoyment. The greens were very fresh and crisp. There were candied walnuts, feta cheese, and an amazing house dressing to top it off. When our food arrived, we learned quickly that we had no worries about having enough food. Everything tasted excellent and we even had leftovers. We were really in the mood for dessert, so we got what is called "Something Chocolate." This was a great decision. This was a chocolate ice cream cake topped with homemade whipped cream and chocolate shavings. This was the perfect way to end our meal.

When our check arrived, we were pleased that, after tip, we had only spent about thirty dollars. That was great for the food and service that was provided. We will definitely be returning to the Red Rock Canyon Grill soon!
