Like most Americans I put on a couple of pounds during the holidays and made up my mind that starting January 2nd I was going to find a diet that would help me lose some of those pounds. Upon watching a commercial for the Taco Bell Drive Thru Diet I figured what the heck and searched for the menu provided by Taco Bell. I was quite impressed at the menu and decided that I could do this for a few weeks as I attempted to lose about 10 pounds.
The Taco Bell Drive Thru Diet Menu consists of the following menu items.
Fresco Crunchy Taco - 7 grams of fat - 150 calories
Fresco BURRITO SUPREMEĀ® - Chicken - 8 grams of fat - 340 calories
Fresco BURRITO SUPREMEĀ® - Steak - 8 grams of fat - 330 calories
Fresco Bean Burrito - 8 grams of fat - 340 calories
Fresco Soft Taco - 7 grams of fat - 180 calories
Fresco Grilled Steak Soft Taco - 4.5 grams of fat - 160 calories
Fresco Ranchero Chicken Soft Taco - 4 grams of fat - 170 calories
I decided that if I were to eat 1 of each item on the menu that I would get around 1700 calories per day. My diet consisted of a bowl of cereal each morning and then 3 selections for lunch, 3 selections for dinner, and 1 selection for a late night snack. I would purchase enough food for the entire meal and did this for 1 week. Be warned, it is expensive, I spent approximately $25 dollars per day on the food.
I found the food on the menu to be quite tasty and very filling. If have one complaint about the food it is that the food didn't stick with me very long. I found myself hungry after about 3 hours. I solved this problem by spacing out my intake and eating about every three hours. This worked quite well for me and solved my hunger problem in between meals.
I ended up losing about 4 pounds in 7 days while following this diet and feel that I could have lost a little more in week two. I believe that if someone were to replace one meal a day with 2 items they would do a lot better on this diet and it would be a lot less costly. My goal was to lose 10 pounds over the course of my Taco Bell Drive Thru diet and believe this would have been accomplished had I stuck with it for 2 weeks.
