As it turns out, I actually lost alot. I lost trust, money and time. Let me first say that most of the products Melaleuca has are awesome. There were very few things that I just did not like. However, I had to spend approximately $75 a month on products to remain active and receive commissions. My commission checks were nowhere near what I expected them to be either. I quickly lost interest in purchasing $75 worth of detergent, cleaners and bath products. Granted, they were safer for me to use with my children in the home. However, I can use other products for less than that. I did receive quality training and the people in my team were great. All except for the man that originally signed me up. All he was interested in doing was signing me up. He did not care how I was doing and after a few weeks, I rarely heard from him. He was always too busy to talk or had a meeting that he was involved in. I lost my trust in him. More than anything, I lost alot of precious time making calls to other people that were "interested". Time that I should have been spending with my child was spent attempting this "business opportunity".
They tell you there is no selling involved. I guess, technically, there isn't. You are not actually out selling the products. However, you are selling the company. Normally, there is a $29 registration fee and that should have been a huge red flag for me.
As for the products, they are great. I loved the cleaners, detergents, makeup, bath supplies, supplements and vitamins. If you can afford to spend the money on them, they are great. However, the business side of things just did not help me out like I was told it would.

Post a CommentWhy did you have a problem with the company? Everything you said was a net positive. Do you not spend $75 a month on cleaners or nutritional products? I wonder what would have happened if you stuck with it and didn't make up that spending $75 a month to buy stuff you are going to buy anyway was a problem. I'm really confused how you lost "a lot" by giving this a try. Nothing you said seemed like you lost "a lot." I mean, seriously, how many hours did you spend actually trying to build a business with this company?
I'm sorry, I just get really annoyed seeing people blame a company when really what happened was they didn't really try and got disillusioned.
Just have to call a spade a spade. It seems like you are blaming the company because you didn't really put any effort into it.
Please, I don't care who the company is, take a little responsibility.
That is too bad about the guy who got you started. One of the most amazing things is the support received as a customer or business builder straight from the company themselves! The membership fee is just like one for costco but is refundable if you are not satisfied...costco doesn't do that! As far as having to spend a certain amount each month, it isn't new money you should be spending, just changing where you spend it from grocery stores to a safe alternative source like Melaleuca. I have yet to have any kind of negative experience and hope you'll give it another try but with a better enroller than that guy! Take care.
My experience has been Great with Melaleuca. I get 30% off every month as a prefered customer (ordering every month) and they have the best "more natural" cleaning products I have found - hands down.
I can only remember one time in shopping with them over the past several years that I had any problem with a product - and that was a lable issue. They replaced it at no charge and told me I could keep the damaged one to boot.
I don't refer customers or do this as a business so to say, but I wouldn't go without the products even if they didn't give me a discount.
