My Experience with the Weslo Inversion Table: A Review
How the Weslo Inversion Table Has Helped My Back
I have had back problems all of my life. I have scoliosis and actually didn't have intense pain until after I had my children. I also have had migraine and tension headaches as well as tight muscles most of my life. If you are familiar with scoliosis, or curvature of the spine, you may know that posture is not going to help your back pain. When you have a curved spine, your muscles will all pull in one direction or another. Standing up straight with a healthy spine, your muscles will balance out.
My curvature is a double S curve. I have deformed vertebrae in my lower back as well as in my neck. As I have gotten older (Don't you just love it when doctors say that? "As we get older, blah blah blah.") there is more wear and tear on my spine. Surgeons won't touch me. My chiropractor, after seeing my x-rays, said that it was no wonder that a surgeon wouldn't want to do surgery on me because that I could end up paralyzed.
I don't want to deal with that possibility. I am taking Neurotin. It is an anti-seizure medication. It has been discovered to help with nerve pain. It is also used for depression and bipolar disorder. Ha! I am getting a two for one! The problem is I don't want to keep increasing the dosage. It helps but I still have pain which is often excruciating. It effects exercise which I greatly need. I used to walk a lot but I can't do much of that anymore. I do water aerobics which causes no pain at all. Unfortunately you can't stay in the water 24 hours a day.
I have a friend who bought a Weslo inversion table. It works on the same principle as decompression therapy. I used her inversion table several times, and it did help. I checked them online and found them as low as $100 up into the $1000's. There is no way that I was going to pay for something that I wasn't sure of for thousands of dollars. Assuming of course that I "had" thousands of dollars.
I found my Weslo inversion table at Walmart for $100. Actually I got it for $99 and some change. I was able to pick it up at the super Walmart and didn't have to pay shipping on it! My son and husband put it together for me and I have used it two times today. After standing on my feet for several hours today, helping at a baby shower, it really helped relieve the pain that I always have after standing for any length of time at all. I am really looking forward to using it on a regular basis and will let you know how my progress is. I highly recommend it.
