My Experience Writing at Associated Content

The People's Media Company is the Cat's Meow

Linda Stamberger
Writers work hard on a goal that seems frivolous to the general public. But without writers, there would be no information, communication or art. The written word puts everything into proper and orderly perspective. Along the way, artists encounter a lot of negativity and pitfalls on the bumpy road to success, depending on what one's definition of success is. It has been said that a writer must keep going, no matter what, but it isn't an easy career path to pursue, for varied reasons.

Being a freelance writer takes dedication. Writers put major thought and effort into their works, and this takes time. There is often little reward afterwards, accept for a sense of personal accomplishment. Like any artist, writers bravely open up the sometimes guarded door to their creativity. This takes a good sense of self, confidence in one's abilities, not to mention the skills needed to develop one's own unique voice and credibility as a writer in general.

In the past, individual works were often relegated to literature and poetry books, or certain magazines. There was a kind of literary "snobbery" in the writing world, one that was more "who you know," than "what you know". Print publications often reject good material from freelance writers, simply because they may not be able to use a certain piece that doesn't fit into their subject matter, or cater to a core audience.

The Internet has changed this course of marginalized publishing forever. The Internet is worldwide, twenty-four hours per day. Associated Content is right at the forefront. Writers today more than any other time in history have a voice, and many various outlets for expression, from blogs, to My Space, to personal websites. But for the professional freelance writer, Associated Content is the best way to go, for more reasons than the obvious.

Writers can earn money. But what I have found with my experience and in reading other Content Producer's articles, is the quality within the articles is evident, and the information is well-rounded and varied. Since we are not taken for granted as writers, we are not taking Associated Content for granted. Independent contract producers at Associated Content are submitting quality content, which makes Associated Content uniquely refreshing, reverent and a common ground for like-minded individuals. Both parties are benefiting, not just one.

I also think that Associated Content is onto something big right now. By building the platform for unique writing styles and individuality, they are creating the new wave of publishing that is similar, if not better to what ground-breaking news media of the 1960's did for varied journalists. Associated Content is indeed the people's media company, and it keeps getting bigger and better. They are not just the whole cat, but the cat's meow.

That being said, we as writers ARE NOT making a living up here, but you can't beat it for writing a quick article that get's good exposure, and it is an easy system to use. Out of all the short online article submission services, I would say this is one of the best.
