When she told me that 7-11 is selling these kits for $20, I decided to check it out. I had to ask the cashier if they sold the e-cigarettes because I didn't see any signs or advertisements for them anywhere in the store. They were sitting right on the counter, next to the register. I wanted to see one before I bought the kit, but they didn't have one for demo purposes. So the cashier removed his from his pocket and gave me a demonstration.
He explained that the XHale 02 starter kit comes with medium-strength nicotine cartridges and that I can get the refills in Max (22mg), High (16mg), Medium (8mg) or Low (0mg) strengths. Each cartridge contains the equivalent of a pack of cigarettes.
The XHale 02 Starter Kit
The XHale 02 starter kit comes with 1 rechargeable e-cigarette, 1 battery, 4 refill cartridges, a USB charger, and a carrying case.
I liked the "plug-and-play" assembly of this e-cigarette. The directions were simple and straightforward. However, as a complete newbie to e-smoking, I would have appreciated instructions on how to smoke the e-cigarette. I'll talk more about that in a minute.
Compared to the good design of the e-cigarette, the plastic carrying case is rather flimsy. Once you open it, it's hard to close without pressing firmly on the tab. Not only that but it didn't hold my e-cigarette in place when I put the kit in my purse. What can I expect for $20.00?
Using the XHale 02 e-cigarette
I appreciated not having to wait 2-3 hours to charge the e-cigarette before I got the chance to use it. Once I assembled it, I took my first puff.
The LED light came on as soon as I sucked on the cartridge. That was good. The plastic taste that filled my mouth was not so good. I was also disappointed with the lack of throat hit and the meager amount of steam that I was able to blow out of my mouth. After hearing about how e-cigarettes simulate the real thing, I found myself disappointed and taking a harder drag to see if I could get more steam.
That turned out to be a big mistake because I accidentally overdosed on the nicotine. Fortunately for me, I didn't have to rush myself to the ER. But I felt terrible for a couple of days. That's where the instructions would have been the most helpful.
Verdict
I would not recommend XHale 02 because I didn't get the smoking experience that I had hoped for. There are better products on the market that have received glowing reviews. Visit Electronic Cigarette Reviews to see the Top 20 brands on the market.
