My Familes Favorite One-Skillet Meals

Madison Ogashi
I don't know about you, but my family loves one-skillet meals. These are based on a family of 4, but you can increase or decrease depending on your family. I'm not sure if it has a name, but my husband just threw some stuff together a couple years ago.

Breakfast Skillet Pork Dinner

1 pound of ground pork.
2 bags of frozen diced potato's
6 or 7 eggs
Some chopped red pimentos
Some shredded cheese
And one medium sized skillet.

Heat on medium heat. Brown the pork and drain the grease off. Add the frozen diced potato's and cook until tender and cooked. Add the eggs, and pimentos for color. Stir always until the eggs are scrambled completely throughout. When this is done, turn off stove, take pan off burner and add the shredded cheese, and stir till mixed in well. Serve up nice and hot! You can add salt/pepper if you like when serving. This has all you need in a good meal....meat, potato, eggs, dairy.

Here is another of my family favorites. Again, this recipe depends on your family, to increase or decrease food.

Hamburger Hash

1pound of hamburger
1 medium bag of frozen or fresh mixed veggies.
1 medium bag of Tater Tots.
1 bag of shredded cheese.
Water
A little Mrs. Dash spice.
1 medium sized skillet

Heat on medium heat. Brown the hamburger and drain the grease. Layer the vegetables on top of the meat, and then layer the tater tots on top of the vegables. Add enough water to almost cover the veggies, and Mrs. Dash to taste, and cover. Cook for about 45 minutes to an hour, until the tater tots fall apart just from cooking. Then remove from burner and add the shredded cheese and mix, as this will hold it all together. Salt/pepper to taste. Serve warm or hot.

Noodles -n- Cheese

1 or 2 medium sized boxes of the Penne Rigate noodles
1 pound hamburger
1 jar spaghetti sauce
Garlic - fresh or powdered
Italian seasoning to taste
Shredded Cheese
1 can diced tomato
Water
Garlic Bread - optional to be served with it.
1 large cooking pot or medium skillet

Heat on medium heat. Brown hamburger and drain the grease. Add the noodles. Fill with enough water to cook the noodles with. Sprinkle in garlic, Italian seasoning and tomatoes'. Drain when the noodles are done. Add the spaghetti sauce, cheese and mix well. Serve hot. Garlic bread optional. Salt/pepper to taste when serving.

One skillet dinners are great. You can take macaronie and cheese and add all kinds of different meats and veggies to it. The sky's the limit on one skillet cooking.
