My Family Prom Traditions

This article is about my family's prom traditions. My entire family always does the same thing when one of our family members go to the prom.

First we all pitch in and help to buy the dress for our family member. Then we try to find the perfect dress. It is very important to find the perfect dress because it is a very important event.

My whole family makes a prom a really big deal. You only go to the prom when you are in high school and you never get a chance to go again after high school so it is a pretty big deal to us.

We always help the family member who is going to the prom to find the perfect hair do too. They have so many hair dos to choose from it is hard to find the perfect one. You always want the one that is so beautiful and elegant and you hope nobody else has.

Once the dress is bought and the hair do is picked out then our entire family goes with the family member going to the prom to watch the hairstylist do their hair. Hoping it will turn out the way it is in the picture from the magazine.

After all of that is done we all go home and put the family member in her dress. Standing there looking how beautiful she looks and how stunning. Sharing in the excitement with her before her date comes and picks her up. Crying with her and laughing with her.

Then the big moment arrives when her date knocks on the door to pick her up. Puts the corsage on her wrist and off they go to the prom. Of course we follow her to the school a little after she leaves.

Once we get to the school they are announced one by one through the doors down the aisle to get their pictures taken. When finally your family member is called with her date and they enter the room. Our whole family cries because of how beautiful she looks.

We take pictures, tons of pictures while they are walking down the aisle. So perfect and so lightly walking like they knew all along how they were suppose to do it. Like they were practicing for years.

After the ceremony at the school, we go home they have their fun at the prom and we wait patiently for them to come home and tell us all about the magical night they had together. We sit and talk for hours upon hours about their amazing night.

Finally we go to bed and prepare for the next prom that will come in a few years. That is the way our family prom tradition is like. It is very nice to have your whole family involved in such a magnificent night. Our prom's are always remembered through out our lives.
