I have a strange cubby hole in my bathroom and these are fairly common in older homes and condos. You know that strange opening underneath your country where there should be a cabinet, but for some unknown reason they did not put one in! I hate that!
In this decorating video I show you an option for dressing up that empty space in the bathroom and making it a feature rather than an eye sore.
Slipcovers are one of the quickest way to transform the look of any piece of furniture. You really can slip cover just about anything! In this video you get to see how much of a difference a white slip cover can make on an old burgundy arm chair that was my Grandmother's.
The white slipcover lightens and brightens the look of my old arm chair in seconds!
You can take something as simple as a cast iron pot and turn it into a functional magazine rack in seconds. I love trying to think outside of the box when decorating with vintage finds from the local flea market. I knew the second I saw this cast iron pot that I would use it to house magazines! Southern Living Magazines of Course!
I came up with this awesome idea to turn an old door from our first home into a coffee table. My fiancé was kind enough to do the manual labor for me and it turned out great. We have an extra old door thanks to demolishing a closet, but you can always buy a new door or old door at the local flea market!
I find it so fun to take different flea market finds, like stepping stools, and create a grouping of them to make a side table. The mix and match look gives interest in a plain room. This flea market find side table idea also keeps your furniture from matching too much! There is nothing I hate more than matchy matchy furniture!
If you can not find any vintage step stools, then try grouping some small wood trunks together like I have in this decorating video! You could also use a collection of coke crates or vintage fruit crates.
