Like in My favorite 1989' film "Earth Girls Are Easy". This Movie is a bizarre, romantic comedy, sci-fi, musical all rolled into one film, which is brilliant. It was so out of this world but, so down to earth at the same time. Geena Davis starred as Valerie, she was a fun, easy going, strong, Manicurist from the Valley, California. Her Co-star was Candy (Julie Brown) who played a spunky, energetic, Make-over artist at her shop "Curl up & Dye" (You've got to love that name). Valerie had her life set for her, She had her job that she loved, and She was soon to be married to her Doctor Fiance', Ted (Charles Rocket). Candy wanted to change things up a bit for Valerie when Valerie started complaining about Ted not being interested in the "bedroom". Candy gave Valerie a head to toe make-over, she looked amazing and they both just knew that her new look would have to make things spark in the bedroom. Little did either of them know that Ted was being unfaithful. Valerie walked in on Ted and a blonde bimbo nurse from his office. She kicked Ted out, and was ready to rid her life of chaos. Meanwhile three furry aliens were on a crash course headed to Earth.
Valerie was relaxing out by her pool, and suddenly a "Giant Blow Dryer"(as she called it) lands in her pool. She thinks it's an illusion because of all the stress she has been under, so she jumps into the pool and swims straight into the ship knocking her unconcious, she wakes up to find three furry colorful Aliens staring at her. She did what any other Valley Girl would do and invites them into her home. She realises she has to get the pool drained in order for them to be able to go back to where they came from, so she calls her trusty pool boy, Woody(Michael Mckeen) to drain it. She also knows she has to get these Aliens looking as normal as possible, because even for California they looked strange. So she takes them to Candy, if anyone could turn them into "Hot Babes" other than Candy. So she transforms Mac(Jeff Goldblum) into tall dark and handsome, Wiploc(Jim Carrey) into the blonde surfer type, and Zeebo(Damon Wayans) into a chocolate hunk. They are fast learners, so Candy opts to take them on an adventure they will never forget, and takes them dancing. After a long night of fun and dancing, Val decides she should keep the guys in so they dont get exposed.
In the meantime Woody is still trying to get the pool drained. Val is realising she has a strong attraction to Mac. Ted is trying to come back to Val. Woody then decides he wants to take off to the Beach and decides to take Wiploc, and Zeebo with him, which only leads to a lot of trouble for everyone. There is a hold up at a gas station, a dangerous car chase, Wiploc and Zeebo get put into the hospital, and Ted is their Doctor.Val get's revenge on the blonde bimbo nurse. Val ponders on leaving Earth. Ted makes out with a Cat. It has one hilarious and sweet ending.
If you want to see a movie that never has a dull moment, and is very colorful and well blended together with Comedy, Romance, Sci-Fi and a bit of a Muscal, I suggest watching this movie "Earth Girls Are Easy". They picked the best characters to play each part, and had the best music to play throughout the whole movie. If you like spunky, punkie, colorful, and creative movies, you will definately love this movie.

Post a CommentLOL, this movie is definitely a classic! Reading this made me think of another great movie "Little Shop of Horrors" and I couldn't help but laugh to myself. Thanks for your opinion, keep writing and we'll keep reading!
Good job Lori! Don't be so hard on yourself. You just have to express yourself, which you did. Just be you, the rest of us will be lucky if you do.
Okay so this was my first one, it's pretty much terrible! Ahaha! I'm trying though.
