My Favorite Denzel Washington Movies

Denzel Washington was born in Mount Vernon, New York on December 28, 1954.

Washington spent the summer of 1976 in Southern Maryland, in St. Mary's City, acting summer stock theater in the Wings of the Morning, the Maryland State play.Soon after graduating from Fordham, Washington made his professional acting debut in the 1977 made-for-television movie Wilma. He made his film debut in the 1981 film Carbon Copy. His big break in the film industry came when he starred in the popular television hospital drama hit, St. Elsewhere from 1982 to 1988.

This film is based in a futuristic, high-tech world that is ran by huge corporations and centers around Parker Barnes (Denzel Washington) who is a Los Angles policeman and is serving time for killing the psychotic who murdered his wife and child.

This is a remake of 1947's The Bishop's Wife and follows an Angel who is sent to Earth to help........ GET NAME OF ANGEL..(Denzel Washington) wonders if love can be Heaven on Earth in this family-themed romantic fantasy. Rev. Henry Biggs (Courtney B. Vance) is the pastor of a struggling Baptist church in a poor section of New York City. Biggs is devoted to serving his flock and his community, but things are not easy; membership is down, money is tight, the furnace is broken and his faith is not as strong as it was. Things are beginning to strain his marriage also. This is a very heart-warming holiday story the entire family will enjoy watching.

The Taking of Pelham 1 2 3(2009)

This is a remake of the 1974 thriller which was inspired by John Godeys' best selling book and centers around a New York City subway dispatcher who draws on his extensive knowledge of the subway system in order to outsmart a dangerous criminal mastermind who's hijacked a subway train. Walter Garber (Denzel Washington) is drifting through his daily routine when he receives word that the subway has just been hijacked.

John Q.(2002)

Featuring Denzel Washington, Robert Duvall, James Woods, Kimberly Elise, Daniel E. Smith, Anne Heche.

A national health care crisis in the United States centers on this intense drama. Denzel Washington stars as John Q. Archibald, a factory worker facing financial hardships when he loses not only his job but his health insurance for himself and his family. When his ----year old son get name. collapses during a baseball game and is rushed to the emergency room, they find out that his son has a congenital heart disease and since they have no health insurance, the hospital is going to release his son even though the child can die and will die without a heart transplant. This is when John Q. takes matters into his own hands.

Carbon Copy(1981)

Featuring Denzel Washington, George Segal, Susan Saint James, Jack Warden, Paul Winfield.

George Segal plays the rich and surly California executive Walter Whitney. One day he finds out that he has a 17-year-old black son named Roger Porter (Denzel Washington). When his son arrives, Walter tries to pass him off to his neighbors in the restricted all-white suburb as a sociological experiment.
