It is about a black man being accused of raping a white women in 1930s south. Gregory Peak is the lawyer whom is to represent the black male. He is up against a lot. The issue of race and southern ideals. Not only does he have to defend the guy in the court room but protect him from angry mobs trying to lynch him. It took a little girl by the name of "Scout" to face their prejudices and leave the jailhouse. The point of the movie told by Gregory Peak. "He stated...his father told him it was a sin to kill a mockingbird, mockingbirds all they do is sing their hearts out for us, they do not bother anyone."
That is why I loved this film it made you think. It was not over complicated. Gregory Peak's quote about mockingbirds embodies the trial itself. There is a black male on trial that has not done anything to anyone but live his life. In the end the man was found guilty and later killed by officers for allegedly running away. So in turn the town killed an innocent man to cover their own fears of race and the truth. The old saying of "what goes around comes around" the real abuser of the young girl whom allegedly raped by the young black male was killed. I highly recommend this film. Here are five site you can go and purchase the film.
