Slumdog Millionaire is an amazing movie for 2009. It was a non-traditional film about reality in other countries. We in the US are so fortunate to not have to deal with many trials of life that so many face on a day-to-day basis in other countries. The actors were amazing. The fact that it won 8 Academy Awards speaks for itself. If you have not seen this movie, I really think you should before the year is up and experience what this heart grabbing movie has to offer. Danny Boyle really had a creative mind to do the movie in the format he did- flipping back and forth from present to past was really in my opinion what made the movie so different. I know the people of India may not have found this movie so appealing and at times could have been appalled by some of the content but it was done in a tasteful manor. The actors really did a great job of playing the character and you really saw the chemistry between Jamal and Latika. There is sadness and tragedy amidst the happy love story behind the movie. I think it is hard to incorporate all of these aspects and emotions into a film, Boyle did just that! The music composer was fantastic and very talented. I love the little song and dance number at the end- really hit that Bollywood notion many of us expect! So get yourself some nice company and hit the theater to view this masterpiece!
This movie is not out yet but I am sure you can purchase it at FYI, Blockbuster or Amazon when it comes out!
