My Favorite Movie Trilogy

Emily Griffin
My favorite movie trilogy will probably be such a cliché answer but I am being honest. I love Lord of the Rings. Why? I am not sure, probably because it is something I grew up with because it is something that my parents loved. Although I did not really read the books till the movies came out, I was always fascinated by the story line and the language that was created for this series. Plus, I love how the 3 movies show the struggles that we all share as human beings on a daily basis. Albeit, it is an extreme example, but we can all see the struggle within us and somehow relate to one of the characters weather good or evil.

Lord of the Rings has really stood the test of time over the years and has left a legacy in the film industry. Unlike many movies that come out now will die down in a few years but as time goes on, Lord of the Rings is going to be something our children's children will be watching and enjoying and not think it's "lame" or "boring" to be watching a movie made 40 years ago simply because the visual effects and sound effects are not as good as they are at that point in time. They will enjoy it simply because it is an incredibly family film and has life lessons built into it.

The language that Tolkien created for the film still boggles my mind. It truly shows the fascination that Tolkien had with languages as a whole. If I had known the author, I do not think it would have really surprised me that an entire language was created just for a short series of books. I honestly don't think many people could intentionally do that. Most languages just happen to transform over time, whereas this one was completely created in a short amount of time.
