Tis many moons since i was young
very fit and highly strung
collecting conkers in the fall
climbing over the neighbours wall
pinching apples from their trees
going home with scrapes on my knees
laughing as we played in mud
watching cattle chew the cud
not for us todays pc's
we would rather go climb trees
playing out until it was late
coming home to dinner on the plate
where has all that childhood gone
nowadays kids just sit at home
not the urge to go outside
lots of little gymslip brides
growing old before their time
why has life become as so
where did all the childhood go
very fit and highly strung
collecting conkers in the fall
climbing over the neighbours wall
pinching apples from their trees
going home with scrapes on my knees
laughing as we played in mud
watching cattle chew the cud
not for us todays pc's
we would rather go climb trees
playing out until it was late
coming home to dinner on the plate
where has all that childhood gone
nowadays kids just sit at home
not the urge to go outside
lots of little gymslip brides
growing old before their time
why has life become as so
where did all the childhood go
