My Feline's Fancy - a Rhyming Stream on a Cat's Daydream

Peeking Inside a Pet's Private World

Surely, a cat's dreams must be a marvelous thing. Her reveries must be filled with feline fantasy and fun. Perhaps they represent pussycat paradise on earth.

After all, doesn't everything improve with plenty of practice?

The world is coming to an end,
But I don't give a whit, my friend.
I'll linger in a sunny spot,
Above the radiator hot,
I'll catnap anyway.

The family left at half past nine,
And so the house is fully mine.
A shadow moved; must be alive.
Could jump up now, take a nose dive.
I'll catnap anyway.

The dog, she interrupts my rest.
She is a giant furry pest.
I need my beauty sleep just now,
Takes too much effort to "Me-ow."
I'll catnap anyway.

Something's fishy, but it's good.
There's tuna in the neighborhood.
A tiny mouse is snoring fair;
He'll never know what hit him there.
I'll catnap anyway.

My litter box emits a stench
That makes my kitty teeth to clench.
Perhaps I need to dig more sand,
To lend a feline helping hand.
I'll catnap anyway.

I need to stretch my limbs a bit;
This basket is a perfect fit.
Some exercise would do me good,
To frolic in the neighborhood.
I'll catnap anyway.

They left me here to guard the scene.
But I'd much rather purr and preen.
I love my home, but there's a catch,
The world at large can just go scratch.
I'll catnap anyway.

Another wonderful poem. You forgot "The house is my Kingdom and I'll do as I please, for you are my servants...NOW GET ME SOME CHEESE!"

I love this poem, and the cute photo...the only thing my cat seems to say is--"Where is my dinner?"
