My First

Lessons from My Father

Maricia D. C. Johns
The first man that held me in his arms was you

You were the first man to ever kiss my cheek ever so gently

The pet name that I carry to this day was given by you

You were the first man to have tea with me and pull out my chair

I learned from you that doors should be opened for ladies by gentlemen like you

My first experience of a man truly loving a woman was given to me by you as you truly loved your wife-my mother

Each day I thank our Father for giving me you-my father

Happy Fathers Day!
