My First Three Months on Associated Content

Making Money is Easy

Eric Jackson
I started submitting on 9/9/09 with a series of articles reviewing websites. On average I made $2.50 an article that were just over 400 words each. I picked up a few things from the assignment desk, but didn't really enjoy them. Plus you can't submit them for upfront payment. I always use upfront payment because if they decline I can still display the article and get Performance Payments.

Not everything you submit is going to be accepted for upfront payment. I published a college essay on Tim Obrien that did not receive upfront payment, but is one of my leading performance payment articles. Less popular seem to be my comic book and book reviews which are seldom purchased and if they are get very few page views.

Let's run some numbers:

Highest paying upfront payment - $4.31

Lowest - $2.00

Published articles - 54

Number of articles that have received upfront payments - 21

Performance Payments:

Sept - $0.25

Oct - $1.11

Nov - $2.61

Total Amount Made - $72.78

You can see my performance get's better every month. My advice is just write what you know. I try to always have something pending for an upfront payment. I write reviews for bars I visit and how to articles on stuff I've done before. Check out my profile to get an idea on the things I write about. Try to write different types of articles because you never know which might be a big money maker. I started using free images on a lot of my articles and sometimes it helps, but it is better to use your own images.

I will continue to write for AC and keep making money.

Thanks for sharing your earnings with us. I am always curious as to what others are making.
