My First Time in Las Vegas

Sharing My Experience

Have you ever been to Reno? Have you seen the casino lights? Well, forget about Reno. Las Vegas is the king of bling. It generates so much light at night that you can see the illumination from 50-100 miles away. You can even see it beyond the mountains. It almost looks like the sun just stopped after setting. But what does all that represent? Well, in my point-of-view, slavery. It's so inviting, so appealing, but the only things that makes Las Vegas go around are the slots.

There's a negative and a positive side to my story of visiting Las Vegas for the first time, and I'll start with the positive. First an foremost, if you want to go super car spotting, this is the place. Well, this and Dubai. So if you live nearby, it's worth driving just for that. Spend a few days there and you'll see some of the greatest cars ever produced. You can see a Maserati, a Lamborghini, and if you're lucky, maybe a Bugatti Veyron! Well, not really, you can see just about everything by visiting the Lamborghini showroom in the Palazzo. Pay $10 and you can sit all day looking at millions of dollars of magnificence! Automotive aside, if you want to see some beautiful architecture, and you live nearby, it's also worth the drive. Of course, some of the landmarks are scale-down copies of famous landmarks from Europe, but if you can't afford to go to Europe, or afraid of getting on a plane, Las Vegas has some beautiful architecture you can look at, admire, photograph, and explore.

Time for a few negative sides to Las Vegas to be discussed. First, if you're an old lady or a grandpa, please don't go to Las Vegas! Las Vegas has some of the most aggressive drivers, and you have to drive like a Vegan if you want to make it to point B. Not only that, but it would also be a good idea to prepare for a car accident because it's really easy to get into one there. Second, Las Vegas is probably one of the most complicated places to drive in. And at night, it's even more complicated because there are so many lit up buildings that it's almost disorienting. The third is the most obvious - the casinos. I visited a few during my stay at Sin City. I didn't gamble, but I observed a few people who did. All I could say is that those who go to play at the slots start as humans and end as zombies. And after blowing off monthly income might be the reason why people drive like lunatics!

So, it's flash, it's got some nice cars, it's got some beautiful architecture, but at what cost? Well, I've heard a wise man say that Las Vegas is built on slots; and if the slots weren't there, the city wouldn't be there either. After spending four days there, I'd like to stick with Boise, ID. I may not see some of the cars and architecture, but at least I won't meet a zombie on the road, or at the mall.

I've been into cars for a long time now. It started as a little kid when I started drawing cars for fun. My cars, though, did not have guns and fins on them, well, most of them didn't, to say the least. I fo...  View profile
