My Friend

Carolyn M. Kenney
A dear friend of mine recently underwent an unfortunate incident in her life. It is at such times as this that we contemplate the value of friendship and how important it is to each of us, especially in today's world. Unfortunately, there is more focus today on material goals and wealth than on the principles of family, love, friendship and honesty.

My friend is just that - a true friend. She is willing to help anyone at anytime and in any situation. Those of us who know her have been blessed to have her as an integral part of our lives. Her ready laughter, lively smile and outgoing personality immediately put those around her at ease.

Her willingness to help others is rare in today's world and is greatly admired among those who have come to know her over the years; we have been truly blessed. She is honest, kind and caring. She is my friend - now and forever.

Friendship has a beginning, but does it have an end? If we are a true friend, we will not let our relationship die but instead will nourish it and help it to flourish. We all face trials and tribulations in life and at such times we look to one another for understanding and support. A friend is someone who will be by our side at such times and will continue to walk with us each step of our life's journey.
