My Garden's Story - a Poem

My Garden's Story - A Poem

I look out at my garden
With its rows so green and straight,
An old flowery spring wreath
Hangs on my garden gate.

Geraniums around the bird bath
This year they will be bright red,
With a copper colored bird feeder
Hanging nearly overhead.

The garden looks so pretty now
No weeds are yet in sight,
Just radishes, peas and onions
Pushing up with all their might.

This year's plants are quickly growing
Within their age-old cans,
Peppers, cabbage and tomatoes
Cherry, yellow, orange and red.

The zuchinni squash are breaking through
The warm and crusty ground,
If you ever planted zuchinni
Two plants will produce pounds!

For some it's work to have a garden
Overnight weeds can grow two feet,
It must be watered and weeded
But those fresh tasty veggies - oh, so sweet!

  • What's in my garden?
  • What makes a garden great?
  • Yes, it can be work.
It is amazing how much both the veggies - and the weeds - can grow overnight after a good soaking rain. Get those weeds out soon - or they'll take over and ruin your pretty garden.
